Kaleseramik in World Architecture Festival


Çanakkale Seramik & Kalebodur brands were selected for the Product Showcase gallery, with the Kalesinterflex, Reptile Collection and Klinker products recommended by Turkish architects, for the World Architecture Festival to be held for the first time in Barcelona, Spain, between October 22 and 24, 2008.

The festival will host several activities such as the gallery, with hundreds of projects sent from a total of 71 countries, shortlist presentations of architects, a thematic exhibition "Between possibility and responsibility", a student charette, product showcase for products nominated by architects, book sales and research tours.


 
The award programme constitutes the focal point of the World Architecture Festival, which will be held at the Centre Convencions Internacional, i.e., the International Conventions Centre, one of the most significant convention halls in Barcelona. The event will emphasize the regional qualities of architecture, as well as reflecting on the increasing international professional partnerships. In addition to the WAF World Architecture Festival Awards (WAF Awards), a live charrette for architectural schools, a thematic exhibition, structural materials exhibition, a citiy tour, various social activities and various festivals will be held within the scope of the festival.

The Reptile Collection designed by Can Yalman, the world famous designer of Çanakkale Seramik&Kalebodur, klinker with porcelain features and the Kalesinterflex, which is a ground breaking product in the construction industry, will take part in the product showcase which is open to architects and visitors worldwide.

Event director for WAF is David Pead; the programme director is Paul Finch; and exhibition curator is Jeremy Melvin. The reason for Barcelona being elected as the venue for this prestige event is that the city has an architectural content referred to as the perfection from Antoni Gaudi to Enric Miralles.
