Important Facts About Sizing and Shading
- Ceramic tile size, color shade and color variation codes are printed on each carton and sometimes appear as bar coding.
- Make sure cartons have the same size, color shade and color variation codes before using tiles.
Facts About Tile Installation
- Seek a professional tile installer. Ask for credentials and references.
- The surface to which the tile will be applied must be clean, smooth, dust free and oil free.
- Ask your tile installer to read the manufacturer's instructions before tiling.
- A reasonable color shade variation in ceramic tiles is inevitable due to the natural raw materials used in the production process. Ask your installer to check the color shading by referring to the codes on the outside of the cartons. It is also recommended that the installer manually inspects the tiles prior to affixing them. This process helps ensure that the variations in color shading are blended evenly throughout the field of tile.
- Grout joints should be a minimum of 3 mm wide.
- Claims cannot be accepted after tiles are installed. Installation constitutes acceptance.
- Always keep a few extra tiles in the event repairs are necessary at some future date. It is also useful to keep an original carton showing the various size and color codes.
- Please contact your sales agent or Kale Export if you have any questions about our products.
- Kalekim adhesives are highly recommended for the installation of Kale ceramic tiles.

Ceramic Tile Cleaning and Maintenance Instructions
Once installation is complete, the tile surface should be throughly cleaned as soon as possible, especially in the case of matte porcelain, polished porcelain and anti-slip ceramic tiles.
Regular Cleaning
- Sweep glazed and unglazed tiles with a soft bristle brush. Wash glazed and unglazed tiles with warm water and a mild detergent.
- Rinse the tiled surface several times with fresh water.
- Do not use abrasive or acidic cleansers on glazed tiles.
Degreasing
Oily matter should be removed as soon as possible from tiled floors or walls by using any of the following products. Always be sure to follow manufacturers' instructions on cleaning product labels.
- Detergent containing organic solvents
- Highly - alkaline detergents (pH > 9)
Efflorescence
- This condition is a formation of salt crystals on the tile surface that appears as a white film. It is caused by moisture that travels from the substrate, or foundation on which the tile is affixed.
- Obtain cleaning product specifically for removing efflorescence and follow manufacturer's instructions.
Residual Cement Film
Clean with diluted acidic cleaners recommended for this use and follow manufacturer's instructions. Rinse the surface with fresh water after cleaning.
Stains on Unglazed Tiles
Certain types of stains, on unglazed tiles only, require stronger cleaning agents. In such cases do the following:
- Scrub with an abrasive soap by hand or with a machine.
- Do not use metal cleaning pads.
- Use appropriate cleaners or solvents. Further information can be obtained from cleanser manufacturers and institutions.
- Use household bleach.
- Rinse with fresh water after cleaning.
Other Important Notes
When cleaning with high-pressured water jets, please follow the guidelines below:
- High-pressured water jets should not be concentrated in one section of tile for too long, otherwise grouting material can be damaged.
- Water incorporating abrasive materials should not be sprayed over tile surfaces.
Using rotating scrubbing machine
- Operating speed should not exceed 450 r.p.m.
- Brushes must be flexible.
